HelpWire Introduces Two-Factor Authentication to Strengthen Account Security

Updated on:

Electronic Team, Inc. is pleased to announce that Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is now available across the HelpWire platform. This release marks an important step in enhancing account login security and reflects our ongoing efforts to provide modern, reliable protection for users who depend on HelpWire for remote support and access.

Introducing Two-Factor Authentication in HelpWire

2FA has been one of the most frequently requested security upgrades from the HelpWire community. After a successful public beta earlier this month, the feature is now enabled for all users.

A Stronger, Safer Login Experience

Two-Factor Authentication adds an additional layer of verification on top of the standard password-based login. With 2FA enabled, signing in requires both your password and a time-sensitive One-Time Password (OTP) generated by an authentication app on your smartphone.

This additional step significantly improves account security by reducing the risk of unauthorized access, an essential requirement for remote support workflows that involve sensitive data and privileged control.

HelpWire supports a wide range of industry-standard authenticator apps, including:

  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • Authy
  • Duo
  • Okta Verify
  • 2FAS
  • Any TOTP-compatible app

Each login will require a new code that refreshes every 30 seconds, ensuring that only verified users can access their HelpWire accounts.

Enabling 2FA in HelpWire

Activating 2FA takes just a few moments:

  1. Navigate to Account Settings → Security in the HelpWire Web Portal.
  2. Enable the option under Multi-Factor Authentication.
  3. Scan the QR code using your preferred authentication app.
  4. Confirm setup by entering the One-Time Password generated by the app.

Once enabled, the additional verification step becomes part of your regular login process.

Future Enhancements to Authentication

The introduction of OTP-based 2FA is the first in a series of planned updates aimed at strengthening identity and access management within HelpWire. Additional authentication factors are already in development and will be released in future platform updates.

These improvements support Electronic Team’s broader security strategy: providing robust protection across all remote access solutions in our portfolio.

Continuing to Advance Platform Security

The release of 2FA is a direct response to feedback from HelpWire users, many of whom emphasized the importance of stronger login protection for remote support environments. This update reflects our ongoing focus on improving security, usability, and operational trust across all Electronic Team products.

We look forward to sharing more updates as HelpWire continues to evolve and expand its capabilities.
